Our Hospital at a Glance
Taipei Veterans General Hospital (Taipei VGH) is a premier medical institution in Taiwan, founded in 1958 to serve veterans, their families, and the general public. Renowned for its exceptional care, Taipei VGH is the largest and of the top national public hospitals in the country.
Historically, Taipei VGH has played a vital role in caring for veterans and prominent national leaders. To expand healthcare accessibility nationwide, the hospital helped establish Taichung Veterans General Hospital in central Taiwan in 1982 and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital in southern Taiwan in 1988. Additionally, it integrated seven branch hospitals in northern and eastern Taiwan to form the North District Veterans General Hospital Healthcare System between 2011 and 2013.
Offering a comprehensive range of specialties and state-of-the-art treatments, Taipei VGH provides personalized healthcare services throughout all stages of life, from prenatal care to end-of-life support. In recognition of its outstanding contributions, the hospital was named one of the World's Best Hospitals and World's Best Smart Hospitals by Newsweek in 2024.
Looking ahead, Taipei VGH remains committed to advancing medical care through initiatives such as comprehensive cancer treatment, interventional cardiology and neurology, neurology and rare disease gene therapy, minimally invasive surgery, and intelligent precision medicine.
