Multidisciplinary treatment of temporomandibular disorders
Overview
Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are conditions affecting the jaw joints and surrounding muscles and ligaments. It can be caused by trauma, an improper bite, arthritis or wear and tear. Common symptoms include jaw tenderness, headaches, earaches and facial pain.

TMDs usually improved after couple weeks, but the episode will come more frequently than ever. Our multidisciplinary treatments focus on improving the substantial disorders in many aspects, not only to improve mouth opening and pain relief, but lasting the durability of TMJ functions.
Procedure
First of all, we will establish the comprehensive evaluation of physical and psychological status. Through thorough treatment planning, we will initiate the sequential therapies including the specialists of oral surgeon, dentist, rehabilitation and neurological physicians, psychologist, and Chinese traditional medical doctor.
Notification
Due to the multidisciplinary treatment modalities, the duration should be as long as half a year or longer. We devote the minimal invasive procedures to maintain the sustainable jaw functions during the therapies.
