For the first visit, patient will be required to fill out a first visit form at the counter of the First Outpatient Building. For the return visit, patient may make the appointment through the website.
A2:Please contact International Medical Service Center(IMSC) via phone at +886-2-2875-7808, +886-2-28757642 or via email at imsc@vghtpe.gov.tw.
A3:Overseas patients can send local medical records, summary, examination reports and images by email to International Medical Service Center. Once the patient’s medical information is received, our project coordinators will be able to contact the appropriate specialists to pre-evaluate the patient’s condition, and it might need a few working days. When the patient’s case is approved for treatment or medical procedures in our hospital, we will reply to you and give the information about the estimated medical expenses, duration of the hospitalization and length of stay in Taiwan. If above information is accepted by the patient, we will contact the patient for further processes.
A4:Typically IMSC patients are referred to a doctor in the relevant department based on the doctors' schedules and availability upon your arrival. If you have a particular doctor in mind please inform us beforehand and we may check the schedule; however, you may have to plan your trip according to that particular doctor's availability.
A5:The official document will be under process after the doctor made your medical plan. It usually takes 5-7 working days, and the final document will be ready for the client to apply for medical VISA.
A6:When doctors made up your treatment plan, we will estimate approximately cost to you based on similar cases or diagnosis. About the hospitalization cost, our client should prepay the estimate of medical cost. After the treatment is done, the rest of money will be refunded.
A7:Yes, we provide all the clients to pay by credit cards.
A8:Currently no insurance companies have a contract with Taipei Veterans General Hospital(TVGH), the patients have to pay the medical fees first, and claim their paid amounts to their insurance companies with the medical receipts and documents.
A9:With Taipei being a densely populated metropolitan city, there are many forms of transportation available to you during your stay. The most convenient form of travel may be Taipei MRT system. There are also many public bus lines as well. Taxis are also widely available and very convenient; however, these are more expensive than the MRT or bus.
