Taipei Veterans General Hospital(TVGH) held a ceremony announced Muslim Prayer Room officially opened on the 26th of September. The Representative of Saudi Arabian Trade Office in Taipei Mr. Adel Fahad A.Akthaidi and the President of Chinese Muslim Association Ming-Chun Chang(張明峻) were present in person to award the Muslim-Friendly Environment Certificate.

The Vice Superintendent of Taipei VGH Shou-Yen Kao(高壽延) said, in addition to providing high-quality medical services, the comfort of the soul is even more important. In front of the Chung-Cheng Building(中正樓), there is an underground passageway, which had already set up a Buddhist hall, a priest's room, and a small Catholic church in order to provide a friendly medical environment for Muslims in Taiwan, and then set up prayer rooms and purification equipment, with the philosophy of care for patients as if they were our own family, providing holistic care for all patients with their body, mind and spirit.
The Representative of Saudi Arabian Trade Office in Taipei Mr. Adel Fahad A.Akthaidi expressed his praise and gratitude to Taipei VGH for providing high-quality medical services to envoys, officials and kinship, attaching importance to the medical needs of Muslims, and setting up Muslim Prayer Rooms for intimate services, and said that Taiwan's efforts in providing a Muslim-friendly environment in recent years are obvious to all, and will attract more Muslims to work, study or move to Taiwan.
The President of the Chinese Muslim Association Ming-Chun Chang(張明峻) expressed his gratitude to Taipei VGH for providing a friendly environment for Muslims, especially for the spiritual sustenance of many migrant workers in Taiwan. He noted that Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Tourism Index(GMTI) 2022, Taiwan was recognized as the "Inclusive Destination of The Year (non-OIC)" at the inaugural "Halal in Travel Awards", a ceremony held by CrescentRating. Taiwan also maintained its second-place position among the world's non-OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) destinations on Mastercard-CrescentRating's "Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2022" for providing a Muslim-friendly travel environment.
