To provide dispensing, compounding and clinical pharmacy services.
Overview:
Taipei Veterans General Hospital builds 12 pharmacies to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care for inpatients and outpatients. The pharmacy is staffed with approximately 200 pharmacists and 15 assistants. The average service volume is about 10,000 ambulatory patients per day and around 3,100 inpatient beds. The pharmacy department consists of 3 divisions: dispensing, clinical pharmacy and compounding. Department of Pharmacy provides dispensing service for inpatients, outpatients, emergency and traditional medicine prescriptions; compounding service for total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and chemotherapeutic infusion products; clinical pharmacy service including prescription verification/evaluations, patient education, drug information service, ward rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring, and pharmacist-run clinic. We are committed to improve the safety of the medication use process with various kinds of information technology. Our service and pharmacy-led projects have received several honors, including National Health Quality Award and the Symbol of National Quality.
